Milo has an older sister, Hannah (born 1980) and four brothers – twins Christian and Edward (born 1982), William (1985) and Louis (1988). He also three step-siblings. Milo lived in Santa Monica, California for a while to study drama, and aside from being known as Mel Gibson’s son, Milo is also known for his roles in “Gangster Land,” “All the Devil’s Men,” “Hacksaw Ridge” and “Breaking & Exiting.”

Family’s personal life

Milo’s father is not the only celebrity in the family. Mel’s paternal grandmother (therefore Milo’s great-grandmother) was a famous Australian contralto opera singer. Eva Theresa Mylott was born on 16 September 1875 in Tuross Head, New South Wales, Australia, and passed away on 20 March 1920 in Chicago, Illinois, US when only 45 years old. She married John Hutton Gibson, an Irish-American businessman, in New York City on 17 June 1917.

The pair had two sons together, Hutton Gibson in 1918, and Alexis Mylott Gibson in late 1919. When Alexis was only a young baby, Eva slipped in the shower causing her to injure her neck. This injury led to her death. John passed away thirteen years later.

Milo’s uncle, Donal Gibson, is a retired actor. He was born on 13 February 1958, making him Mel’s younger brother. Their father Hutton Peter Gibson was an American writer who was born on 26 August 1918, and passed away on 11 May 2020. Their mother Anne Patricia Reilly was born in 1918 and passed away in 1990 – her occupation is unknown, but she was likely a stay-at-home mom.

Hannah did not follow in her father’s acting footsteps; the closest she got to the entertainment world was when she worked on “What Women Want” as a make-up artist, and in which Mel starred.

She married musician Kenny Wayne Shepherd in 2006 – the couple have two sons and a daughter.

Christian works in Hollywood as a camera operator, including with his father in “Daddy’s Home 2” and “Hacksaw Ridge.” Edward – Christian’s twin brother – opted for a more private life, and founded a custom wood slab furniture company called Natural Edge. William rivals Christian in the privacy aspect of his life, as almost no photographs can be found of him online. Louis prefers working behind the camera, and is a director and writer – his most notable is the 2016 horror, “Happy Hunting.”

William graduated from college in 2017. Lucia is rarely seen in public and the same can be said for Lars.
