Samaje grew up in his hometown, but once it was time for high school, he and his family moved to Pflugerville, Texas, where he went to Hendrickson High School. Before he declared for the 2017 Draft, Samaje played in 10 games for the Sooners during the 2016 season, helping his team with a total of 1,060 yards, 12 touchdowns, and one receiving touchdown. He broke the record for most rushing yards for the University, with 4,122, surpassing previous record holder Billy Sims’ 4,023 rushing yards.
