Although born in New York, Giselle was raised in Puerto Rico from an early age, where she also studied. At the age of 14 Blondet’s first appearances were when she started appearing in various telenovelas, and she then gained popularity through roles in numerous Puerto Rico soap operas of the late ’70s and the early ’80s. At one point, there was a public rivalry between Giselle and Millie Aviles, another young actress who resembled her physically and was at the start of her acting career too. Her net worth was already growing.

Throughout the ’80s, Blondet participated in various TV shows, mini-series, soap operas and even theatre plays, steadily making a name for herself in the industry of entertainment. However, it wasn’t until 1998 that Blondet gained international fame, when she was selected to co-host Univision’s morning show „Despierta America“ next to other well-known Puertorican TV hosts such as Rafael Jose, Ana Maria Canseco, Neida Sandoval and Fernando Arau. Upon leaving the show, Blondet went on to host a real life tragedy show called „Histrias Para Contar“.

In 2006 Giselle filmed the Christmas movie „Feliz Navidad“ next to Jose Feliciano and Raul De Molina, however, it was only released on DVD. The following year, Blondet was given the opportunity to host another Univision reality show, called „Nuestra Belleza Latina“ (Our Latin Beauty) which had similar structure to shows like „American Idol“, „America’s Next Top Model“ etc. After something of a break from acting, Giselle appeared in one episode of „Mujeres Asesinas“ in 2010.

In June 2014, she launched her collection of bedding and jewelry called „Gi“ and achieved enormous success, which launched her onto the US market before the end of the year.

After hosting „Gran Hermano USA“ at Telemundo for one season, she returned to Univision to become the host of „Pequenos Gigantes USA“ in February 2017.

Aside from acting, hosting and business ventures, in 2004 Giselle published her autobiography „Con los Pies en la Tierra“, no doubt adding somewhat to her net worth.

When it comes to her private life, Blondet has had three marriages, firstly to jeweler Luis Iglesias from 1982 to ’84, then to actor Luis Abreu in 1986, but the marriage fell apart soon after.

Her third husband was producer Harold Trucco, to whom she was married for eight years until 1997. She has three children – one from her first and two from her third marriage.
