George Robert Stephanopoulos, an American author, political advisor, journalist and broadcaster was born on 10 Feb 1961, in Fall River, Massachusetts USA of Greek descent through both parents. After moving to Cleveland Ohio, Stephanopoulos attended Orange High School and during his high school years he used to do competitive wrestling. His father wanted him to become a lawyer, and Stephanopoulos promised him that he would study law, but graduated from Columbia University situated in New York with a Bachelor’s degree in political science, the best student of his class and being awarded a scholarship; he was also a broadcaster at the University’s radio station. Later he secured a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Balliol College, Oxford.

In his early career he worked for Michael Dukakis in his 1988 presidential campaign. Later he worked in the presidential campaign of Bill Clinton along with James Carville and David Wilhelm. After Bill Clinton was elected, Stephanopoulos served as press secretary, but later he was moved to the post of Senior Advisor for the matters of policy and strategic planning following his various verbal mistakes during the press conferences he held. He later resigned from his post in 1996 when Bill Clinton was re-elected. Regardless, his net worth improved considerably during this period.

In 1999 he authored “All Too Human: A Political Education”, which went on to become a New York Time’s best seller, and in the book he talked about the pressure he felt during his time as the spokesperson of Clinton’s government. Stephanopoulos even canceled a seminar in order to promote his book. After his career ended at the White House, he became a political reporter for ABC News’ program “World News Tonight”.
