Geoffrey Owens, born on the 18th of March, 1961, is an American actor, director and teacher, who became famous for his role in the hit television show “The Cosby Show” in the 1980s.

Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Owens is the son of Major Owens, a former US Congressman, and Ether Werfel Owens. He attended Arcata High School where he discovered his love for acting, and later on graduated from Yale University.

Owens’ career started in the ‘80s and he immediately hit it off when he became part of “The Cosby Show”. He joined the hit sitcom in its last five seasons, playing the role of Elvin Tibideaux. He stayed with the show until 1992 and it opened up other opportunities for him, as well as his performance in the show earning him a Young Artist Award in 1989, and a TV Land Award in 2011. “The Cosby Show” helped his career and also his net worth tremendously.
