Who is John McCrea?

British actor and singer John McCrea was born in Aldershot, Hampshire, England, on 10 October 1992, so Libra’s his zodiac sign. He’s appeared in 18 movies and TV series, and is probably known best for portraying Artie in the adventure crime comedy movie “Cruella”, directed by Craig Gillespie, and which starred Emma Stone, Emma Thompson and Joel Fry. It follows the life of Cruella de Vill, before the events in the 1961 animated movie “One Hundred and One Dalmatians”, and the film won 30 of its 72 award nominations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Costume Design.

John made his debut film appearance in the 2011 comedy “Documental”, and his following role came in 2015, when cast to star as Albin in the short drama “Late Night with Albin and Bibita”.

In 2017, John played University Boy in the romantic drama “God’s Own Country”, written and directed by Francis Lee, and which starred Josh O’Connor, Alec Secareanu and Gemma Jones. It follows farmer Johnny Saxby who spends his days drinking alcohol and having casual sex, while he’s now fallen for a Romanian immigrant worker; the movie won 33 of its 77 award nominations.

John could then have been seen playing Jamie New in the 2018 musical “Everybody’s Talking About Jane” and Dance Instructor in the 2019 short drama “Our Sister”, while the year 2021 saw him portray Young Loco in the biographical comedy “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie”, directed by Jonathan Butterell and Dan Gillspie Sells, and which starred Max Harwood, Lauren Patel and Sarah Lancashire.
