Despite having an interesting life story, Kris Brkljač only rose to prominence after it was revealed that he’s dating the famous “Castle” actress Stana Katic. Early life, family, and education
Born Srboljub Brkljač under the zodiac sign of Libra on 7 October 1961, which makes him 51 years old (as of March 2023), he hails from Sydney, Australia, and was raised by his Serbian parents who had moved from Lika, Croatia before his birth. Kris has two brothers, Milan and Dragoljub; the names of their parents haven’t been disclosed.
Speaking of his educational background, Kris attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 1996, he enrolled at college, however, aged 21, he decided to drop out and move to New York City, USA, where he enrolled at the university from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Media Law. From homeless to businessman
Chris didn’t have much money when he arrived in the US, and it was difficult for him to find a stable job, so he lived on the streets as a homeless person. Marriage with Stana Katic
Kris met his future wife thanks to Stana’s brother, Marko. It isn’t clear when the two began dating, however, for a long time they kept their relationship a secret. There have been some rumors saying that the two broke up back in 2007, and then reconciled in 2014, however, neither Kris nor Stana commented on these assumptions.
What we do know is that they exchanged their wedding vows on 25 April 2015, in Dalmacija, Croatia. The wedding ceremony was intimate and private, and Stana’s spokesperson was the one who shared the news with the public about their big day.
As mentioned, both Kris and Stana are quite secretive when it comes to their personal matters, so when they became parents, the public was denied that knowledge. In June 2022, Stana’s representative confirmed that the two had welcomed their first child during winter, whose name and gender haven’t been revealed.

Stana has 40 acting credits to her name – she made her acting debut playing Annie in the 1999 short movie “Acid Freaks”. Her next role came in 2003, when she was cast to play Angela in the movie “Shut-Eye”, followed by her first television appearance as Mariela in the series “The Handler” in 2004.
In the following year, Stana was seen as Marianne in the action movie “Pit Fighter”, which was poorly rated by the audience. Stana followed with guest roles in hit series such as “ER” (2005), “24” (2006), and “Heroes” in 2007, then later that year, she portrayed Jenny in the romantic drama “Feast of Love”, starring Morgan Freeman, Radha Mitchell and Alexa Davalos, based on the novel “The Feast of Love” by Charles Baxter.
Stana was next cast to play Juliana Martinelli in the 2008 TV mini-series “Would Be Kings” before she landed her first lead, and to date most notable role as Kate Becket in the series “Castle”. The show aired from 2009 to 2016, and Stana appeared in all 173 episodes. This comedy crime-drama follows the story of a mystery novelist Rick Castle, who helps New York Police Department detectives to solve cases.
The star of the series, besides Stana, were Nathan Fillion and Susan Sullivan, and the show was nominated for 26 award nominations, including four Primetime Emmys, and won 20. Concurrently, Stana was seen in the movies “Truth About Kerry” (2010), “For Lovers Only” (2011), and “Big Sur” (2013). After her role in “Castle”, she was cast to play Anna in the 2017 romantic drama “Lost in Florence”, the lead female role opposite Brett Dalton, however, the movie had no nominations, and the audience rated it 5.1/10.
Another notable television role for Stana came later that year when she landed the role of Emily Byrne in the mystery crime-drama series “Absentia”. The series aired from 2017 through 2020, and her co-stars were Neil Jackson and Patrick Heusinger.
