She was seen in nine episodes before she was eliminated by the bachelor, Colton Underwood, during the sixth week of the show.

However, her fans were thrilled to see her in “Bachelor in Paradise”, a game show in which contestants from previous seasons of “The Bachelor” have another chance to find their true love. From 2019 through 2021, Demi was seen in 21 episodes of the show, and viewers got to know this girl better.

In her intro for the first episode, Demi spoke to Hannah B, one of her co-stars, saying that she has been seeing someone, and it happens to be a woman. This was a pretty big moment for the Bachelor franchise since, as we all know, the show displays heteronormative relationships. The concept of the show is having a dozen of people of the same gender who compete to win the love of a person of the opposite sex.

Demi’s girlfriend, Kristian Haggerty, made a surprise appearance and joined the show, so Demi and Kristian continued their relationship on screen in “Bachelor in Paradise”. Demi was a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, where she stated that she was afraid of coming out. Demi also said in one of her interviews that she feels that she doesn’t have to proclaim herself gay, adding that it only matters who she likes. In July 2019, Demi tweeted that she’s a ‘queer queen’.

In the following year, Demi made an appearance as a host to a group date for the contestants of the 24th season of “The Bachelor”.

She has already gained enormous popularity on social media platforms, and today her Instagram account is being followed by over 950,000 people, and her TikTok profile has gained nearly 350,000 followers, while all of her videos together have amassed more than four million likes. Demi’s Twitter, established in January 2019 has been followed by over 315,000 people.

Since her last television appearance, Demi has launched her podcast called Big Demi Energy, and a collaborative sex-positive clothing line with The Laundry Room.

Most recently, Demi announced through her Instagram feud that she is autistic; her goal was to encourage people to be open-minded about this condition. Fans of the show “The Bachelor” commented that Demi’s announcement helped them to understand her better.

Love life and relationships

As mentioned, Demi was in a relationship with Kristian Haggerty, and the two became engaged during the final season of the show “Bachelor in Paradise”. They met through a mutual friend, and used to hang out together but were just friends. As Demi said, one night she was hanging out with Kristian and their friends, and when everyone else had gone to sleep, Demi and Kristian ended up in a hot tub together. Both Demi and Kristian said that they didn’t realize how much they mean to each other until they separated when Demi went on the shooting of “Bachelor in Paradise”.

In October 2019, Demi announced that they ended their relationship. Their joint statement on Instagram said that this is the best for both of them, since they feel that they need to grow individually. Demi and Kristian thanked their fans for all the love and support they have had through the show.

In 2021, Demi joined the crew of “The Celebrity Dating Game”, and she was seen in one episode. Demi said that she seeks a loving companion of any gender.

As of March 2023, Demi seems to be single, she hasn’t been married and was engaged once. However, she is cast for the new dating show, entitled “Love Trip: Paris”, which follows four American girls who move to Paris, France to find love.
