Fantasia Monique Barrino was born on 30 June 1984, in High Point, North Carolina USA, and is an R ‘n’ B singer and actress, who rose to prominence in 2004 when she appeared in the TV show American Idol 3, which she won and which opened the door to success. She released the song “I Believe”, which charted in the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and the release of the first single and her TV appearance obviously increased the popularity of Fantasia, and certainly added significantly to her net worth.

After her victory, Fantasia signed a $1 million contract with J Records.
