Eric Del Castillo Net Worth $50 Million
Eric Del Castillo was the eldest son of teacher Aurora Galván Valenzuela, and firefighter Eduardo Del Castillo-Negrete Rivera, who tragically lost his life on job. In his youth, he wandered a lot, first studying to be a priest in a Mexican seminary for foreign missions in Mexico City, and later attending medical school for a short while. He decided to pursue acting on the advice of his mother, and enrolled in the Film Institute, theatre and broadcasting of the National Association of actors (ANDA) in 1954.
Eric’s first roles were in experimental theatre, starting in 1957 in the play “Réquiem para una monja” – subsequently over the course of his almost sixty year-long career, he has appeared in over forty plays. From the stage, he transferred to the big screen, debuting in the 1960 mystery thriller film “Verano violento” (“Violent Summer”). In the next three years, he appeared in more than twenty film roles, in a variety of genres, including comedy “Lastima de ropa” (1962) and sci-fi horror “Rostro Infernal” (1963). Afterwards, he transitioned to the small screen, where he has reaped his greatest success.
His telenovela debut was in 1962 in “La herencia”, and soon after, he landed his first protagonist role, in the telenovela “Lo Imperdonable” (1963), where his co-star was Silvia Derbez. The roles continued to line up, and his schedule has been very busy ever since, filming at least one telenovela per year. Though he has played his fair share of protagonists, his most memorable roles are those in which he appeared as the antagonist, or a supporting actor. He made a special, but notable, appearance in the hit telenovela “Maria la del Barrio” (1995-1996), starring Thalia and Fernando Colunga, and had supporting roles in famous telenovelas such as “Lazos del Amor” (1995-1996), “La Mentira” (1997), “Apuesta por un Amor” (2004-2005), and “Pasion” (2007-2008) among others. He also plays the main antagonist in the new Televisa series “Tres Veces Ana” (2016), alongside Angelique Boyer and Sebastian Rulli. He continues to act, even though he is already in his eighties.
Regarding his personal life, from his marriage to Kate Trillo del Castillo since 1969 he has a son and two daughters. His daughter, Kate, is also a famous Mexican actress in her own right. He was previously married to Roxana Billini Satamaria from 1964-67.
