Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born on 24 July 1969 in New York City, USA, the daughter of David Lopez and Guadalupe Rodriguez. Of Puerto Rican ancestry, Jennifer is the middle of three sisters, Leslie, the older, and Lynda the youngest, and a journalist and acclaimed author. JLo went to the all-girls Preston High School, during which time she was a member of the gymnastics team, ran track, and played softball. Marc Antonio Muniz Martinez was born on 16 September 1968, in New York City USA. Of Puerto Rican ancestry, he is the son of Felipe, a hospital cafeteria worker and musician, and his wife Guillermina, who was a housewife. He grew up in East Harlem with seven older siblings. He was influenced towards a music career from an early age, and began his career in the ‘80s in house music acts in New York, and as a session vocalist.
His career took off in the early ‘90s, when he started recording salsa music on his own, and his first studio album – “Otra Nota” – was released in 1993.
