Elyes Cherif Gabel is an actor born on 8th May 1983 in Westminster, London, UK. He is probably best known for his roles in the BBC dramas “Casualty” and “Waterloo Road”. Gabel also appeared in the first two seasons of the popular HBO series “Game of Thrones” as Dothraki Rakharo. Although born in London, Elyes grew up in Canada, but later returned to UK and lived in Manchester and Bristol. He is of mixed descent, and his ancestry includes Algerian, Spanish, French, Dutch, Irish, Anglo-Indian and Portuguese. As a youngster, he went to St. Damian’s Roman Catholic Science College, and later attended Strodes College, the Oldham Theatre Workshop and the Northern Kids Theatre Company. During his studies of drama, Gabel left school to appear in the children’s fantasy sitcom “I Love Mummy”, which ran for one season in 2002, and consisted of 26 episodes. At the time, he also appeared in several stage productions of “West Side Story”, “Oliver!” and “The Diary of Anne Frank”, just starting-off his net worth.

However, his career truly took off after joining the cast of the TV series “Casualty” as Guppy Sandhu in 2004. In 2013, he played Detective Adam Lucas in “Body of Proof”, and appeared in the feature film “World War Z” later that year. His other notable film career includes roles in Spooks: The Greater Good” and Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar”. Since 2014, Gabel has been a regular cast member in the drama series “Scorpion”, based on Walter O Brien’s real life, which has recently been renewed for its third season.
