Edward had a difficult childhood, never finding out who his biological father was. “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” was his entry into the film industry, and this successful film enabled Edward to continue his career, and become a star, as he earned a Saturn and MTV Awards for the Breakthrough Performance. In 1992, he also appeared in the film “Pet Cemetery 2”. All these roles positively affected his total net worth and fame, as he became a regular in main casts of the films through the 1990s. His other notable roles include the “Pecker” (1998), “American History X” 1998 and “Detroit Rock City”.

Unfortunately, since the beginning of the 2000s, his career has been in a constant downward spiral, as his problems with the law increased. Regarding his personal life, it has been full of controversies ever since he entered the film industry. In 1992, he was dating the 14 years-older Jacqueline Domac, who later became his manager. For several years they lived together, until 1999 when they split up, and Domac sued him for 15% of his overall earnings. Following the end of the relationship, Edward got himself into the troubles with drugs and alcohol. Over the next few years his acting career suffered greatly, as he spent time in and out of rehab facilities from 2000 to 2005. In 2006, he married Rachael Bella, with whom he has a son, before the couple divorced in 2009, with Furlong being arrested for domestic violence, as he had allegedly hit his wife, which saw him hit with a restraining order, and eventually ending-up paying for child support.

His troubles with the law intensified in the next few years, as he has spent 61 days in jail due to his drug and anger problems. In 2013, he was also arrested for domestic violence, as he had allegedly hit Monica Keena, who was his girlfriend at the time.
