Before starting his professional career, Eddie attended Fordham University where he earned a degree in finance, marketing and communications. Gordon then worked as a finance director, and later a sales consultant, however, after meeting up with his high school friend Chris Weidman, Eddie decided to start training for MMA, and pursue a career in sports. In March 2014, Gordon was cast as one of the members in season 19 of “The Ultimate Fighter“ show, eventually chosen as coach Frankie Edgar’s third pick for the middleweight category, after defeating Matt Gabel. Having defeated Mike King in the quarter-final rounds and Cathal Pendred in the semi-finals, Eddie secured his place at the finale, and at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale event in July, Gordon became the middleweight tournament winner after defeating teammate Dhiego Lima. At UFC 181 in December that same year, he faced Josh Samman, but lost the fight via knockout. The following year Eddie faced Chris Dempsey at UFC on Fox: Machida vs. Rockhold and Antonio Carlos Junior at UFC Fight Night 70, but lost both fights. It was in October 2015 that Gordon stated via his Facebook page that he had been released by the UFC, having still established his net worth.

After a year-long pause, Eddie returned at the Cage Fury Fighting Championships 60 in August 2016, where he fought Bellator veteran Chris Lozano. When it comes to the most recent information regarding Gordon’s activity, it was announced in February 2017 that he would once again compete on the UFC’s 25th season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption”. Eddie competes for the Serra-Longo Fight Team, and has a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

In November 2017, Gordon announced the publication of his the book, stating that his main goal was to motivate young children into achieving the most of themselves, and that the price of the book is affordable. The documentary which depicts his way to success and everyday life, called “’Truck’:Eddie Gordon’s journey to Ultimate Fighter winner”, won an Emmy award. Gordon’s moto is that his success in life will not be counted in how many fights he wins or how much money he earned but in how many lives he has touched and inspired with his story.

In his personal life, there aren’t even any rumours of Eddie’s romantic associations, if any.
