Lidya Jewett was born on 19 January 2007 under the Capricorn zodiac sign, in Gambella near the Ethiopia-Sudan border. Lidya started appearing in print and TV commercials at just eight years old. After a few auditions, she made her acting debut in the TV comedy family-drama series “See Dad Run”, with Scott Baio, Alanna Ubach and Jackson Brundage.
The same year, Lidya won her first major role as Gracie Walker in the TV comedy fantasy-drama series “WITS Academy”, about teenagers attending magic school. The series starred Daniela Nieves, Julia Antonelli and Jailen Bates, among others, and Lidya appeared in all 20 episodes of the acclaimed series before it ended.

In 2017, Lidya appeared in the Oscar-nominated family-drama film “Wonder”, with Jacob Tremblay, Owen Wilson and Izabela Vidovic, while the next year, Lidya portrayed Young Nakia in the multiple Academy Award-winning sci-fi action-adventure film “Black Panther”, which starred Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o.
The film was a major success, and Lidya rose to stardom. She learned a lot from her co-stars, which she immediately showcased in the action-adventure drama film “The Darkest Minds”, starring Amandla Stenberg, Mandy Moore and Bradley Whitford.
