He has made his career as an actor and film producer in the USA, and has appeared in many well-known movies. David is a son of Joan and Charles Caruso. His mother Joan worked as a librarian while his father was a magazine and newspaper editor. Charles Caruso left the family when David was only 2 years old and since then, as the actor says, he had to father himself. As a kid Caruso attended Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School which was located in Forest Hills. Later he studied at Archbishop Molloy High School and graduated in 1974.
