Daniel Henry Edward Thompson was born on 4 April 1939, in Devon, England, and is a musician, best known to be a multi-instrumentalist who has played with various musicians throughout the course of his career. He’s been active in the industry since the 1960s, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Danny moved to London at a young age. While attending school, he played soccer and also started learning various instruments. He was taught the guitar, trumpet, trombone and mandolin, before settling with the upright bass as his main instrument.

After his studies, Thompson started pursuing a career in music, predominantly working as a session musician for other artists. He was a part of Alexis Korner’s Blues Incorporated with which he recorded two albums. In 1968 he formed the jazz band Pentangle – the name of the band representing its five members – which would stay active until the 1980s.. They found a lot of success with releases such as “The Pentangle”, “Sweet Child”, and “Reflection”, adding steadily to Danny’s net worth.

Danny worked with Richard Thompson on projects such as “The Old Kit Bag”, and “Mirror Blue”, being a part of the concert which was made into a DVD entitled “Richard Thompson Live in Austin Texas”, one of the televised concerts from the series “Austin City Limits’. For his personal life, it is known that Thompson is married to Daphne and they have a son. His son would become the drummer for the band Hawkwind during the 1980s. He now resides in London. He is known to have converted to Islam in 1990.
