Who is Cory Gruter Andrew?
Fans of the popular television series “The 100” certainly know some facts about the young, talented actor who portrayed Aden, but for those who aren’t, Cory Gruter Andrews was born under the zodiac sign of Virgo on 1 September 2000, in Vancouver, Canada. He holds Canadian nationality, and his ethnicity is of mixed German and Irish descent. Besides “The 100”, Cory has over 10 acting credits to his name, and one of his most significant is his role as Cole Mackenzie in the series “Anne with an E”, which brought him a nomination for the Young Artist Award Best Supporting Young Actor – Television Series, in 2019.

Early life and education
Cory was raised in Vancouver, by his parents whose names and occupations he hasn’t disclosed, and it’s unknown if he has any siblings – it’s assumed that he was raised an only child.
His mother recognized his talent for acting and took him to acting classes; Cory spoke about how he got into acting, saying: ‘I finally decided to try an acting class and decided that I really liked it – I found the people around me were uplifting and I enjoyed exploring the depths of characters’ lives. I have time to hang out with my friends and family, go to school, and do chores – but I don’t have much time for team sports because of auditions.’
Cory attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 2018, he enrolled at college but hasn’t shared with the public which one he’s currently attending.
Roles in movies
Cory made his first appearance on the big screen in the movie “My Sweet Audrina” in 2016, portraying Arden Lowe alongside James Tupper, India Eisley, and William Moseley, in this mystery thriller drama based on the novel of the same title written by Virginia C. Andrews.
In the following years, he portrayed Brett Blainesfeld in “Manny Dearest”, and Elliot in “The Show” (originally entitled “This Is Your Death”), and for this role, he had to shave his head, which according to him was the most frightening thing he’s ever had to do.
He portrayed Teenage Taster in the 2017 Netflix movie “Okja”, alongside Tilda Swinton, Seo-hyun Ahn and Paul Dano in this action adventure drama created and directed by Bong Joon Ho, which had 21 award nominations and won seven.
Cory was cast to play Tom in “Beyond the Sun”, starring alongside Emma Duke and Kyle Breitkopf, before he portrayed Curtis Farraday in the 2018 movie “Summer of 84”, a horror mystery drama that follows the story about a group of teenagers who suspect that their neighbor is a serial killer, and so start to spy on him, unaware of how dangerous that will get; the stars of the movie were Judah Lewis, Caleb Emery and Graham Verchere. This was Cory’s most recent role in a movie, and his fans are hoping that it won’t be the last.

Cory made his acting debut in 2015, portraying Wes in the episode “Palindrome” of the series “Fargo”, alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Allison Tolman and Martin Freeman, in this crime thriller drama,which had 244 award nominations, and won 60, including six Primetime Emmys.
In the following year, he was cast to play Aden in “The 100”, starring Bob Morley, Eliza Taylor, and Marie Avgeropolous; this science fiction mystery drama had 44 award nominations, including for a Primetime Emmy, and won 11.
Cory next made an appearance in an episode of the series “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”, before he portrayed Troy Johnson in “Van Helsing” and Eliot in “Supernatural”, followed by his role as Cole Mackenzie in “Anne with an E” acting alongside Amybeth McNulty, R. Love life and relationships
There have been various rumors both concerning Cory’s love life and his sexual orientation, however, he hasn’t spoken about any man or woman whom he has been with, preferring to keep his love life away from the media’s attention, so he hasn’t shared any information regarding his relationship status.
Perhaps the rumors saying that he’s gay started because he portrayed young gay artist Cole in “Anne with an E”, so people assumed that Cory might be gay, too. However, Cory spoke about his role for TVinsider.com saying: ‘It’s really nice to see all the responses on social media, people saying, ‘I can relate to Cole in so many ways.’ It’s nice because a lot of people are struggling with who they are, and that’s part of Cole’s story. Cole’s figuring out who he is, as well. It’s just really wonderful to see everyone relating to Cole, and it’s really nice that people are finding inspiration in him.’
As of January 2022, it seems that Corey is single; he hasn’t been married or engaged, and has no children.

One of Cory’s favorite hobbies is photography, he enjoys his lonely walks with his camera as his companion, often posting on his Instagram photographs that he’s taken, mostly landscapes from his home country, and others featuring all kinds of animals, since Corey is an animal lover too.
He’s active on social media networks, particularly Instagram, on which he’s gained over 1.5 million followers, and Twitter which he established in April 2013, and it’s today followed by nearly 45,000 people; he doesn’t have a Facebook page, but others are run by his fans.
