Chris attended Salmen High School, and played basketball for the school’s team. He set several records during his senior year, which led to him going to Duke University in 2000. He became an important role player for the team as a backup to Jason Williams, then became a starter and helped the team win the 2001 national championship. His game improved during his second and third years, helping the team get to the Sweet 16, and to the Final Four during his senior year. He finished his college career as the all-time leader in steals and minutes played, and was a finalist for the 2004 Wooden Award and Naismith Award. He also became the player with the second most wins at Duke, after to Shane Battier.

Chris joined the 2004 NBA Draft, and was selected by the Chicago Bulls as the 38th pick. He played in all games in his rookie season, and was given a new contract which started to increase his net worth. He would prove instrumental in the team’s first play-off series win since Michael Jordan’s time. In 2008, he scored a career high 34 points along with nine assists. After his contract expired, he was given a two year deal by the New York Knicks worth $12 million, which further built his net worth. During his time with the Knicks he set a single game record of 22 assists in one gam, but he then signed a 4-year deal with the Orlando Magic worth $15 million in 2010, but was traded two years later to the Los Angeles Lakers, with Dwight Howard and Earl Clark as part of a four team deal. He stayed with the Lakers until he was waived in 2013.

The following year, Chris became an assistant coach at Marshall to head coach Dan D’Antoni. However, in 2015 he was arrested following aggravated DUI and was suspended by the department. In 2017 after another driving incident, he resigned from his position.

For his personal life, Chris has been married to Andrea Hernandez since 2010. It is known that Chris was intentionally hit by a car in Orlando in 2013 but he could not recall the incident after he was treated at a hospital: police are still investigating the incident. Duhon is also the cousin of basketball player Jarrett Jack.
