Charlie started off as a logger in the Great North Woods located in Ashland, Maine. Soon he would develop a business which would increase his net worth significantly, and his success also helped him to construct his own cabin in the woods. During the winter time, he worked as a trapper and supported himself, surviving in the woods. However, he eventually retired from logging work and focused more on living off the land, and the producers of the reality show “Mountain Men” would take a tour in northern Maine which had one of his cabins as a stop. They became interested in Charlie and would invite him to join the show.

“Mountain Men” started airing in 2012, and is produced by Warm Springs Productions, airing through the History Channel.
