Ahmad Balshe was born on 7 April 1984, in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, notionally Israel, of Palestinian and Canadian descent. Ahmad is a rapper, songwriter, record producer, and singer, best known for performing under his stage name “Belly”. Some of his most popular work include his debut album entitled “The Revolution”. He’s been active in the music industry since 2005 and all of his endeavors have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Belly’s formative years were spent in Ottawa, Canada after his parents migrated, but his education is unknown. He first released a single entitled “Pressure” in 2005, which found popularity on the Canadian charts. In 2007, he released a music video for the single entitled “Don’t Be Shy” along with a music video called “History of Violence” which is one of his most controversial videos. He eventually released his first album entitled “The Revolution” which is a double disc album; his hit singles including “Don’t Be Shy”, “Pressure” and “Ridin'”were a part of the album, and it would win the 2008 Juon Award for Rap Recording of the Year, plus achieving gold certification in Canada and winning two Much Music Video Awards. In the next few years, Belly would release several mixtapes, including a collaborative with rapper Kurupt, and in 2009 the single “Hot Girl” which featured Snopp Dogg. He then released the album “Sleepless Nights 1.5”, and a few more singles before going on hiatus.

Belly returned in 2015, releasing a new mixtape entitled “Up For Days”, containing collaborations with French Montana, Juelz Santana and Travis Scott. He signed with the XO label, and started collaborating with The Weeknd, but then signed to the Roc Nation label which is owned by Jay Z. Belly did a lot of writing too, helping create The Weeknd’s 2015 album entitled “Beauty Behind the Madness”. The following year he released the song “Zanzibar” which featured Juicy J, and his next album entitled “Another Day in Paradise”, featuring Lil Wayne and Waka Flocka Flame. He also co-wrote “6 Inch” for Beyonce’s album entitled “Lemonade”, and later in 2016 he released “Inzombia”, which featured artists such as Young Thug and Ashanti. He would then work on the mixtape entitled “Mumble Rap” produced by Boi-1da. All of these efforts continued to build on his net worth.

Thanks to his work, he’s won numerous awards over the course of his career, including multiple SOCAN Songwriting Prizes for songs such as “The Hills”, “Might Not” and “Wanderlust”. He was also nominated for another Juno Award Rap Recording of the Year for “Another Day in Paradise”, and Grammy Award nominations for the song “Earned It” and “Remember You”.
