Bai Ling was born on the 10th October 1966, in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, and is now an American actress, best known for her roles in “The Crow” (1994), “Anna and the King” (1999), “Saam gaang y” (2004), and “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” (2004). Ling’s career started in 1984.

Bai Ling is a daughter of Chen Binbin, a dancer, stage actress, and a literature teacher, and Bai Yuxiang, a musician in the People’s Liberation Army. After finishing her middle school. Ling was sent to do labor work near the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. From the age of 14 to 17, Ling served as an artist soldier in Nyingchi Prefecture, Tibet.

Her acting career started in 1984 in the Chinese movie “Hai Tan”, and she later appeared in “Tears in Suzhou” (1985), “Shan Cun Feng Yue” (1987), “Da Xue Sheng Yi Shi” (1987), and “Wu Qiang Qiang Shou” (1988). In 1991, Ling moved to New York to study at New York University as a visiting scholar, and then started to play in American series and movies such as “Homicide: Life on the Street” (1993), “The Crow” (1994) with Brandon Lee, Michael Wincott, and Rochelle Davis, and “Dead Funny” (1994). Most recently, Ling appeared in “The Key” (2014) with David Arquette, “Sacred Blood” (2015) with Michael Madsen, and starred in “Everlasting” (2016). Currently, Ling is filming “When the Devil Rides Out”, “Finding Julia”, “Coachella Massacre”, and “Maximum Impact”.

Regarding her personal life, Bai Ling was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport in 2008 after shoplifting magazines and a package of batteries, and was fined $700 after pleading guilty to the charge of disturbing the peace. Ling is openly bisexual, and has been an American citizen since 1999.
