Arthur Ira Garfunkel was born on the 5th November 1941, in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, USA, of part-Romanian and Jewish descent, and is a singer, songwriter and actor, perhaps better known as the co-founder of the folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, with Paul Simon.
