Aqib Talib is an American Football player, born on 13th February 1986 in Cleveland, Ohio USA. He played college football at Kansas, where he was given All-American honors and later played for the New England Patriots. Aqib was the fourth child in the family – his mother had converted to Islam before giving birth to her children, so she gave them Muslim names. While he was still a child, Talib’s parents divorced and he moved to live with his mother in Texas where he started the eighth grade. He then enrolled at the Berkner High School where he played basketball, track and football, and was later named the high school’s Defensive Back of the Year. He enrolled at the University of Kansas and played for the Kansas Jayhawks football team for two years until 2007. There, he became one of the best defensive players as a junior and an unanimous first-team All-American. In the 2008 Orange Bowl, Aqib had an exceptionally good performance and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player, which launched him to enter the 2008 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and became the first Kansas player to be drafted in the first round since 1993, and so kicking-off his net worth.
Talib was named Defensive Back of the Year by the NFL Alumni Association after the 2010 season, however, two years later he was suspended by the NFL for four games due to violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. However, Talib has faced several conduct issues since the beginning of his career in the NFL. In July 2008, he was involved in a fist fight with Buccaneers rookie Cory Boyd, a year later he allegedly hit a taxi driver which saw him charged with resisting arrest and simple battery.
