Born Andrew Scott Rannells on the 23rd August 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska USA, he is an award-winning stage, film, television and voice actor, but perhaps best known to the world as Elder Price in the stage musical “The Book of Mormon”, for which he won a Grammy Award in the category for Best Musical Theater Album, and was also nominated for a Tony Award in the category for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. He is also recognized for his role as Elijah Krantz in the TV series “Girls”, among many other differing roles he has secured so far in his career.

Andrew – of Irish, German and English ancestry from his father’s side, and Polish from his mother’s – grew up in his hometown with four siblings. He went to Our Lady of Lourdes grade school, then Creighton Prep, an all-boys Catholic school in Omaha.

From an early age, Andrew was drawn to performing arts, and in order to become closer to his artistic side, Andrew attended Emmy Gifford Children’s Theater, and made a couple of appearances at the Omaha Community Playhouse, Dundee Dinner Theatre and Firehouse Dinner Theatre; being just 11 years old, Andrew made his first official appearances in a play.
