While in junior high school, Lessman became interested in nutrition and vitamins; during a science fair, he conducted an experiement that tested vitamin use in the health of pet mice. After matriculating, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he would study biochemistry. After graduating, he enrolled at the University of Hawaii with the intention of pursuing medicine, however, a change of mind saw him transfering to Loyola University Law School, where he became a decathlete, and would start designing his own vitamin regimen, but then started a career as a lawyer after graduating.

While working as a lawyer, he was employed part-time by a vitamin company, and in the late 1980s he gave up practising law to focus full-time on a career related to vitamins. This led to him launching his own company in 1989, called ProCaps Laboratories; he also founded TWC Aviation which started operations with a Hawker 800 business jet, locating at Bob Hope Airport, Burbank, California, and would then start earning popularity – both projects started to build Andrew’s net worth. TWC Aviation would eventually acquire other companies and would start building a nationwide client base. The company has since expanded into Asia, and has formed partnerships with other aviation companies such as Hong Kong’s Sino Jet Management Limited. The company was ranked as the “35th Fastest Growing Private Company” in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

While managing his businesses, he also created his own blog related to health and vitamins, called “Words on Wellness” which gets a lot of visitor traffic. He also started a television partnership with QVC in 1992, and began selling his vitamin products through it, however, their partnership had a falling out, and later it was revealed that Andrew did not believe a lot of QVC vitamin products were actually working. In 1997, he moved his line of products to the Home Shopping Network, and has been working with them ever since.

It is known that QVC eventually objected to Lessman’s remarks in his blog about QVC products which he regarded as ineffective and nonsense, and filed a lawsuit against him. Rumors say that the issues began after Lessman had a falling out with QVC – he was set to renew his contract with them but it did not materialise. After those arrangements, it was then that he started to berate several QVC vitamin products.

Very little is known about Lessman’s early life, or his private life in later life – his marital status is listed by sources as ‘undisclosed’, although a lady named Muriel is rumoured to be his partner. He still lives in southern California.
