Peyton Manning was born in New Orleans on 24 March 1976, making his zodiac sign Aries. He spent 18 seasons playing in the National Football League (NFL), 14 of which were with the Indianapolis Colts, and the remaining four with the Denver Broncos; many people consider Peyton to be the best quarterback of all time, and he’s been nicknamed ‘the Sheriff’.
Peyton was raised in New Orleans by his father Elisha Archibald Manning III and mother Olivia (nee Williams); his father was also a quarterback, while Peyton’s brother Elisha Nelson Manning’s also a retired football player, with two Super Bowl wins to his name. Peyton studied at Isidore Newman School, and was on the school’s football team the Greenies; he played three seasons as their starter, winning 34 and losing five games. In 1993, he was named both Columbus Touchdown Club National Offensive Player of the Year, and Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year.
After he matriculated in 1994, around 60 colleges offered Peyton athletic scholarships, and he chose to enroll at University of Tennessee, and to play football for their Volunteers.

Many teams wanted Peyton to play for them following his split from the Colts, including the Miami Dolphins, the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans; he signed a $96 million five-year contract with the Broncos on 20 March 2012.
Peyton was named MVP in 2013, and the Broncos went on to reach Super Bowl XLVIII, losing to the Seattle Seahawks 43-8.
On 19 October 2014, he became the all-time NFL leader in passing touchdowns, after having scored his 509th in a game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Peyton and the Broncos faced the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on 7 February 2016, defeating them 24-10.
He revealed that he was retiring from professional football on 7 March 2016, and was in the same year presented with his ninth ESPY Icon Award (ESPY); he’s since been inducted into the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame, while he was also named to the NFL 100 All-Time Team in 2019.
