Eduardo Franco is an American actor, probably best recognized as Argyle in the eponymous TV series “Stranger Things” (2022), while he’s appeared in several successful series, including “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything” (2015-2017) and “American Vandal” (2017), among others.

Eduardo launched his career in 2015, with the role of Stu in the TV comedy series “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything”. The series is full of misadventures, as Conor visualizes life as a video game. It starred Cameron Boyce, Felix Avitia and Murray Wyatt Rundus. In 2019, Franco starred as Theo in the BAFTA-nominated comedy film “Booksmart”, about two nerdy teenage girls who realize that they should have partied more during their high school yers, and on the eve of their high-school matriculation, decide to compensate for the lost year and have the best night of their lives. Directed by Olivia Wilde, the film received positive reviews and won numerous awards, which helped Eduardo’s career.

Rise to Stardom

The same year, he co-starred in the television movie “Masters of Doom”, alongside Siobhan Williams and Peter Friedman. Moreover, he had a supporting role in the television comedy movie “Labeled”, with Reyn Beeler, Zack Bernstein and Karan Brar.

Eduardo was very busy in 2020 – he was Andrew in the comedy film “The Binge”, which starred Vince Vaughn, Skyler Gisondo, and Dexter Darden; set in a time when drugs and alcohol were illegal, but there is one day when these substances become legal, known as Binge Day.

The following year, Eduardo had a minor role in the comedy-crime film “Queenpins”, written and directed by Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly, about two housewives who create a $40 million coupon scam, starring Kristen Bell, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Paul Walter Hauser. Then he portrayed Mike in the comedy-drama film “We Broke Up”, which follows the couple who broke up before a wedding ceremony of the girl’s sister, and still decided to go to the wedding together, pretending they were still together. Written and directed by Jeff Rosenberg, the film stars Aya Cash, William Jackson Harper and Sarah Bolger.

Eduardo also  jumped into the voice role of Daniel James ‘DJ’ Catnip in the animated series “Gabby’s Dollhouse”, starring Laila Lockhart Kraner, Tucker Chandler, and Donovan Patton.

‘Stranger Things’ and International Acclaim

Eduardo first auditioned for the role of Eddie Munson, another new character in the eponymous show. However, he was selected for the part of Argyle instead, Jonathan Byers’s pothead best friend, and an unlikely hero who saves the group several times throughout the season, while on a mission to stop the new villain Vecna, portrayed by Jamie Campbell Bower.

Although Eduardo didn’t win an award for his portrayal of Argyle, he won the hearts of many “Stranger Things” fans, and is scheduled to return to the show for its ultimate season.
