Yanet began looking for jobs as a model in 2010 – it took her three years to gain participation in the Nuestra Belleza Nuevo Leon competition, one of the most popular Mexican beauty contests.
Soon afterwards, she was hired by Televisa Monterrey to serve as a weather reporter, and although she was referred to as a meteorologist, there is no clear indication that she was educated to be one, and many people assume that she was hired just as a presenter.
