Willie D is a son of Alfred Deboest, a carpenter and construction worker, and Marvelous Dennis, a cafeteria cook. His parents divorced when he was four, and Willie stayed to live with four siblings and his mother, who was verbally and physically abusive. Willie D wanted to be a boxer, and started boxing at the age of 11, and won the Golden Gloves Champion for the State of Texas in 1985. He went to Forest Brook High School but never graduated after being expelled for fighting two months before graduation in 1986.

Willie D joined the Houston rap group called Geto Boys in 1988, and together with Bushwick Bill and Scarface, they revamped the group that was formed in 1986; they were the pioneers of horrorcore, famous for their lyrics about psychotic experiences, necrophilia, and misogyny. In 1989, Geto Boys released their gold-certified “Grip It! On That Other Level” album, the most popular songs from the album were “Gangsta of Love,” “Do It Like a G.O.,” “Size Ain’t Shit,” and “Read These Nikes”, starting-off Willie’s net worth.

Willie also launched his debut solo album, “Controversy” in 1989, and it reached No. 53 on the US R&B chart. Regarding his personal life, Willie D married Bridget Bonier in a private ceremony in 1994, and they have a two children together. The couple divorced in 2010, the same year Willie D had legal problems after being convicted of a wire fraud. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
