He started his career as a child actor, but Taliesin Jaffe is probably known best for his voice acting roles, having done English dubbing roles in numerous anime and video games for years. He is also known as one of the main cast members of the show “Critical Role”, a web series in which voice actors play “Dungeons & Dragons”.
It’s a mix of a modern game Twitch stream and a weekly show that started airing in 2015, and since then Taliesin has appeared in 321 episodes as Percival Fredrickstein Von Mussel Klossowski de Rollo III / Cadeceus Clay or Ashton Greymoore (depending on the Campaign).
Early life, family, and education
Born Taliesin Axelrod Armstrong Jaffe under the zodiac sign of Capricorn on 19 January 1977, in Los Angeles, California USA, he holds American nationality, and his ethnicity is Caucasian. He comes from a famous family – his mother is actres, Nina Axelrod, whose father is a world-famous screenwriter and director, perhaps known best for “The Seven Year Itch” starring Marilyn Monroe. He also worked as a producer for the epic movies “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “The Manchurian Candidate”.
Taliesin’s father is actor, screenwriter and producer Robert Jaffe, known for his work on “Demon Seed”, “Motel Hell”, and “Nightflyers” which he co-produced with his father, Herb Jaffe, also a well-known American producer.
Taliesin has a sister and two brothers, whose names haven’t been revealed since they all prefer to keep their lives away from the media’s attention.
As mentioned, Taliesin began acting while he was still a child, but stopped after several years following a few bad auditions; his father told him that if he wanted to be an actor, he could put in more effort or he could quit, which Taliesin did in the end, although later returning to the entertainment industry.

In the following year, he was seen as Danny Slater in an episode of the series “The Facts of Life”, and Taliesin followed with his role as Jimmy Hassett in “St. Elsewhere”, also in 1984.
Next, he was cast to play Christopher Floyd in the 1984 science-fiction mystery “2010: The Year We Make Contact”, based on the novel of the same title by Arthur C. Clarke. The stars of the movie were Roy Scheider, John Lithgow, and Helen Mirren, and it was nominated for five Oscars (Best Make-Up, Best Sound, Best Effects, Visual Effects, Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, and Best Costume Design), winning the Hugo Award-Best Dramatic Presentation.
In 1985, Taliesin was seen as Willie Mansfield in the series “Hail to the Chief”, followed by his role in the movie “Explorers”, starring Ethan Hawke.
In the following year, Taliesin was cast to play Eric Townsend in the TV movie “Child’s Cry”, which followed the story of a shy 6-year-old boy whom a social worker believes was a victim of sexual violence. Most recently, he appeared in the 2016 musical drama “XOXO”, followed by his role as Dave in the horror “House of Demons” in 2018.

Voice roles
Taliesin has over 150 voice roles, and his debut was voicing the character of Frog Demon in the TV mini-series “3×3 Eyes” in 1991, which he reprised in the 1995 sequel “3×3 Eyes: Legend of the Divine Demon”.

He also did additional voices in “Aquarion Logos” (2015), “Fairy Tail” (2015-2016), and “Prince of Stride: Alternative” (2016). As mentioned, in 2015, he joined “Critical Role”, and concurrently was heard as Alfred Dingbat in the series “Travis Willingham’s Yee-Haw Game Ranch” (2019-2020), among many other voice roles in video games and animated series.

Taliesin was in a relationship with a go-go dancer, Erika Ishii in 2015, and he would occasionally give a sneak peek into their relationship by posting videos featuring his then-girlfriend on his Instagram.
Taliesin came out as bisexual in 2017, and while he hasn’t spoken about his relationships, he’s been romantically linked to a number of men and women in the entertainment industry.
In 2022, rumors about Taliesin’s marriage began, and because he hasn’t spoken about his and Erika’s break-up, many people assumed that she’s his wife, and it was rumored that they had a son together, which Taliesin has neither denied nor confirmed.
