American film and reality show producer Sonya Miller, also known as Sonya C was born in Richmond, California USA, in 1970; her exact date of birth remains undisclosed but it’s believed that Sonya’s zodiac sign is Aquarius. She’s produced close to 20 TV shows, and is perhaps still known best for her work on the 2005 reality show “Material Girls”, which starred Kelly Keener, Cat Wei and April Eden, and follows three young women as they’re teaching their fans about transforming their homes using nothing but fabric.

Sonya’s also quite popular for being a former wife of famous American rapper, actor and entrepreneur Percy Robert Miller Sr – aka Master P.

Early life and education

Sonya was raised alongside her two siblings in Richmond, by their parents about whom Sonya’s yet to talk in public as she wants them to be able to lead normal lives away from the media’s attention. She hasn’t spoken about her siblings either, but it’s known that they’re quite close as Sonya’s featured them in some of her Instagram content.

She studied at a local elementary school in Richmond, and was around 11 when she fell in love with music and began dreaming about becoming a famous singer. Her passion deepened as she enrolled at high school and began taking both singing and dance lessons, while she also became physically active – Sonya ran track, and was on the school’s cheerleading team.

She matriculated in 1988, and as she hasn’t talked about her further education, most of Sonya’s fans believe that she didn’t enroll at college but began working on her way up in the music industry.

Sonya’s career in the music industry actually didn’t last long. as she married Master P in 1989 and a couple of years later decided to become a stay at home mom.

After completing her high school education, she began working for the record labels Priority Records and No Limit Records; her husband went on to help her release her debut and only album “Married to the Mob” in 1991, but as the album failed to attract a lot of attention, Sonya decided to focus on supporting her husband and raising their children.

Producing credits

Sonya made her producing debut with the 2002 show “Classic Car Restoration”, which starred Mark Lambert and Steve Magnante, and follows a group of people as they’re restoring neglected classic cars.

The following year saw Sonya work as an executive supervising producer on the popular show “DIY to the Rescue”, which starred Karl Champley and Amy Devers, and features the two as they’re teaching their fans about improving their homes. Some of Sonya’s following works were on the reality show “Date Plate”, the drama film “Decisions”, and the cooking show “Kitchen Accomplished”, all released in 2004.

Also in 2004, she worked as an executive supervising producer on the show “Weekend Mechanic”, which starred ASE certified master automotive technician Bruce Bonebrake, featuring him teaching his fans about cars. Still in 2004, Sonya produced the show “Catalog This!”, the reality show “Classic Rides”, and the comedy show “Ed the Plumber”.

The year 2005 saw her work on the shows “Freeform Furniture”, “Grounds for Improvement” and “All-Star Kitchen Makeover”, as well as on the reality show “US Poker Championship”, which starred Norman Chad and Lon McEachern, and follows a group of people competing in a No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em tournament.

Also in 2005, Sonya was the executive supervising producer of the documentary show “Backyard Habitat”, which starred Molly Pesce, Carey Jones and David Mizejewski, and follows a group of people as they’re working on their houses’ backyards.

Sonya then worked on the 2006 reality show “Wasted Spaces”, which starred Karl Champley and features random people from the USA, as they’re making the most of the unused space at their homes.

Her final producing work prior to once again focusing on being a housewife was on the 2007 comedy film “Black Supaman”, written and directed by her former husband Master P, who also starred in it, alongside Romeo Miller and Tony Cox; it follows a 30 years old man who’s still living at home with his father.

Love life and marriage with Master P

There’s only a single man whom Sonya’s been with, that her fans know about.

She and Master P met as teenagers and fell in love; they exchanged vows in 1989 when they were both 19, but some sources state that the wedding actually took place in 1991. They have seven children together, some of whom have followed in their father’s footsteps and have launched careers in the entertainment industry.

Sonya and Master P separated in 2010, and she filed for a divorce in 2013, as well as sued him for 40 percent of his assets in 2014; the divorce was only finalized in 2022.

Sonya seems to be unattached as of January 2024, was once married to Master P, and has seven children with him.
