Jermelle Simon Wiki Bio
American actor and social media personality Jermelle Simon was born under the zodiac sign Aries on 16 April 1989, in South Carolina, USA. He has only 10 acting credits and is perhaps known best for portraying Rico in the 2017 episode “Dig” of the popular crime series “Animal Kingdom”, which Jonathan Lisco created, and which starred Jake Weary, Ben Robson and Shawn Hatosy. It follows the lives of members of a family involved in criminal activities, the series aired from 2016 through 2022 and won one of its five award nominations.

Jermelle was raised in South Carolina alongside his brothers Jermaine and Jermol, by their father Wadell who was a shipyard worker, and mother Carol who was a nurse; Jermelle respects his family’s privacy and thus rarely speaks about his brothers and parents in public.
He studied at a local high school in South Carolina and it was during his time there that he became passionate about acting; Jermelle was convinced by his friend to appear in a school play and he loved it so much that he then joined his school’s drama club and began appearing in the plays performed there.
Jermelle matriculated in 2007, and then spent a couple of years appearing in plays performed at local theatres, prior to launching his career on TV.
Roles in movies
Jermelle’s debut film role was playing Chase Jones in the 2011 drama “Why We Pray”, and his following role came in 2017, when cast to star as Marcus in the short drama “HeadSpace”, directed by Mike Heffernan, and which also starred Diana Jing Aeris and J. D. Benjamin; it follows Alex who’s anxious because he’s about to have a life-changing interview.
In 2018, Jermelle played Sam in the short drama “Aged Out”, written and directed by Tomeka M. Winborne, and which starred Paris Brown, Jessica A Brown and Bill Armstrong. It follows an elderly woman who’s just lost her husband, while she’s now found another purpose after meeting a poor teenager.

Jermelle played the main character Averill in the 2019 short sports drama “A Rodeo Film”, which Darius Dawson wrote and directed, and which also starred Charlee Earle and Phrederic Semaj; it follows a bull rider who’s lost passion for the sport, and now has to choose whether to stay loyal to his family’s legacy or pursue his dreams. The movie won three of its four award nominations.
Jermelle’s only other film role has been playing Domonique in the 2023 short comedy “7 Minutes of Heaven”, directed by Janeen Talbott, and which starred Pages Matam, Gabriel Ladd Jr. and David Hunter Jr. It follows a gender reveal party gone wrong, and the film won a 2023 Baltimore International Black Film Festival Award for Narrative Short.
Roles in TV series
Jermelle’s appeared in only four TV series, including “Animal Kingdom”. His debut was playing Isham in the 2013 episode “Rib Shots and Breast-aurants” of the reality show “Tattoo Nightmares”, which SallyAnn Salsano created, and which starred Big Gus Demented, Jasmine Rodriguez and Tommy Helm. It follows a group of tattoo artists as they’re covering their customers’ bad tattoos.
The year 2016 saw Jermelle portray Rapper’s Entourage in the drama “Cocktails and Dreams”, which Natalie Sutherland created and starred in, alongside Ryan Merriman and Trevor Donovan. The film’s original name was “Confessions of a Hollywood Bartender” and it follows the work of a female bartender in Los Angeles.
