Early life and education

Zachary Tyler ‘Zach’ Eisen is a Stamford, Connecticut USA native, born on 23 September 1993. Raised in his hometown by his parents alongside his sibling Mackenzie, Zach was growing up like any other boy, until he got his chance in the entertainment industry as a voice actor, when he was just six years old.

Speaking of his educational background, he attended Westhill High School, and upon matriculating in 2011, enrolled at Syracuse University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Communications in 2015.

Career as a voice actor

Zach made his debut voicing Lukas in the 1999 movie “Entropy”, followed by his voice role as Andrew Mulligan in the animated series “Little Bill” (1999-2002). Based on Bill Cosby’s eponymous book about the adventures of a five-year-old boy with a big imagination, the series won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s Animated Program, among others.

Concurrently, he was heard as Little Red Fish in an episode of the series “Dora the Explorer” (2000), and then reprised his voice role as Andrew Mulligan in the short videos “Little Bill: What I Did at School” and “Little Bill: Me and My Family” in 2001.

Following these roles, in 2002 Zach was heard as Patient #2 in an episode of the series “Grand Central Bennetts”.

Next, he was seen as a Boy in the 2003 movie “Marci X”, also starring Damon Wayans, Lisa Kudrow and Richard Benjamin. This musical comedy followed a story of a Jewish-American Princess (Lisa Kudrow), forced to take over a hip-hop record label, and try to keep one of the most controversial rappers under control. The movie was nominated for four The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards.

In the following year, Zach was heard as Pablo in the animated series “The Backyardigans”, which had 16 award nominations and won four, including the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program. The series was aired until 2013, but Zach was heard in just 20 episodes from 2004 until 2006.

In 2005, he was cast for the voice role which brought him international recognition, in 60 episodes as Aang in “Avatar: The Last Airbender” between 2005 and 2008, with Mae Whitman as Katara and Dee Bradley Baker as Appa. Fun fact: Most of Zach’s recordings for the show were done in his hometown via satellite.

The series had 15 award nominations winning nine, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation in 2007.

Concurrently, in 2006, Zach was heard as Lucas Nickle in the animated comedy “The Ant Bully”, also starring Julia Roberts, Nicolas Cage, and Paul Giamatti.

In 2008, Zach was also heard as Aang in the video game “Avatar: The Last Airbender – Into the Inferno”.

Five years later, Zach made an appearance in the music video for Lana Del Rey’s song “Young and Beautiful”, and the same year, he was seen in the music video for the song “Do What You Want” by Lady Gaga and R. Kelly.

Other credits

In 2015, Zach began working as an assistant director and second unit director on the series “Truth or Dare”, which followed the story of five friends encouraging each other to confront their deepest insecurities, both terrifying and exhilarating, as what begins as a harmless game quickly turns into a perilous reality. Its stars were Riley Mahan, Ezekial Edmonds and Natalie Oliver, and the series won the Telly Bronze Award.

Zach also worked as a producer on three episodes of this series, entitled “Bucks”, “Brooke & Adam”, and “Elizabeth Part II”.

In 2016, Zach worked as a cinematographer on the short movie “Hunted”, written and directed by Vishnu Prasad, the story of a man who has no memory of who he is. He awakens in an elevator in an odd abandoned facility, and to survive, he must contend with the clock, terrible pain, blackouts, and the sense of being watched. Although this eight-minute-long thriller had no nominations, it received high praise from the audience.

Love life and relationships

Zach kept his personal life private after he left the public eye, and his social media accounts are also private. His Twitter account was established in 2012, but since then, he hasn’t tweeted anything.

There is no information available about his dating history, and he hasn’t been the subject of any rumors about his sexual orientation, or love life.

As of October 2022, it’s assumed that he’s single, hasn’t been married, and doesn’t have children.

Where is he now? What happened?

After he quit his acting career – as he said, ‘to live a normal life’ – Zach graduated from college and then began working behind the camera.

According to his Linkedin profile, he worked as a video editor, a desk writer, and as mentioned, as an assistant director and producer.

Currently, he works as a videographer for the mass media company Conde Nast, domiciled in New York City.

In June 2020, Zach surprised his fans when he popped up for an interview with Ted Jones in his vlog.

In December 2020, he made his first public appearance after many years, participating in the Twitch stream alongside Dante Basco, who voiced Zuko in “Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Legend of Aang”. The two were re-watching and commenting on the show’s finale, entitled “Sozin’s Comet”.

Net worth

Zach, now 29 years old, keeps his life away from the center of attention, but while he was in the spotlight voicing Aang, he earned a decent amount of money for someone his age. He’s also made a lot of money working behind the cameras in the entertainment industry, so his net worth is estimated to be more than $3 million, as of October 2022.
