Jamillah was born in Chicago, Illinois USA in 1970 – her exact date of birth remains unknown, but her zodiac sign is believed to be Gemini, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress, TV and social media personality, while she’s probably only known widely for being a daughter of the late American professional boxer and activist Muhammad Ali.
Early life and education
Jamillah was raised in Chicago alongside her twin sister Rasheda and their brother and sister Muhammad Ali Jr. and Maryum ‘May May’, by their father and their mother Khalilah Aly (nee Belinda Boyd), an American actress. Belinda was Muhammad’s second wife, as he had previously been married to cocktail waitress Sonji Roi; Belinda and Muhammad divorced by 1978, and he then married his third wife, American model and actress Veronica Porsche. They divorced by 1986, and Muhammad exchanged vows with his fourth wife Yolanda ‘Lonnie’ Williams on 19 November 1986; the two remained together until Muhammad’s death in 2016. Jamillah also has five half-siblings.
She grew up being interested in various activities, and was highly sporting while attending a local high school; she was also into acting during her teenage years, and appeared in many plays performed at her school.
Jamillah matriculated in 1988, and although she hasn’t spoken of her further education, it’s believed that she attended college, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1992.
Career on TV
Jamillah has only a single acting credit. She portrayed Officer in the 1994 thriller movie “Beyond Desire”, written and directed by Joe Hernandez, and which starred Frank Marty, Therese Marie Gutierrez and Laura Bradley. It follows homicide detective Greg Hagen as he’s investigating the murder of a prosecuting lawyer in Miami, Florida.
Jamillah also made a guest appearance in a 2016 episode of the news talk-show “CNN Newsroom”, while the same year saw her star in the biographical sports documentary film “Muhammad Ali: The Greatest”, which tells the story of her father’s life.

Love life and husband
Jamillah prefers to keep the details of her love life away from the media’s attention, but it’s still widely known that she’s today a married woman. She and American lawyer Michael Joyce exchanged vows in 2010, in a private ceremony in Naples, Florida attended by close to 150 of their friends and family members; the two haven’t talked about how and when they met, but it’s believed that they were introduced by a mutual friend back in 1995. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend George Clements.
Jamillah and Michael have three children together: Nadia, Amira and Jake. The older of the two girls, Nadia’s today either 25 or 26 years old, and holds a degree from the University of Notre Dame, while she had previously studied at Marist High School. Amira’s today 23 years old and has recently graduated from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. The youngest member of the family, Jake, is yet to enroll at elementary school.

Jamillah was physically quite active during her 20s and 30s, as she had multiple training sessions at the gym every week, however, she rarely works out nowadays, but still follows a strict diet, meaning that she avoids eating fast food and sweets.

He was raised alongside his brother in Louisville, by their father Cassius Marcellus Sr. who was a musician and painter, and their mother Odessa O’Grady Clay who was a housewife; Muhammad and his brother were raised Baptists. Muhammad learned that he was dyslexic while attending Central High School, and he thus had problems writing and reading.
He was 12 when his bicycle was stolen by a thief, and boxing coach and police officer Joe E. Martin suggested Muhammad start boxing training. He was initially trained by Fred Stoner, and fought his first amateur match in 1954, when he won against Ronnie O’Keefe. He ended his amateur career with 100 wins and only five losses, while he also won six Kentucky Golden Gloves, a gold medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics in the light heavyweight category, an Amateur Athletic Union national title, and two national Golden Gloves.
Muhammad fought his debut professional match on 29 October 1960, defeating Tunney Hunsaker, and he then won 18 more matches in the following three years, losing none. He became World Heavyweight Champion on 25 February 1964, when he defeated Sonny Liston via technical knockout (TKO); it was not long after this fight that Muhammad converted to Islam, and changed his name.
He defended his title against Floyd Patterson on 22 November 1965, and then founded his company Main Bout, which was to handle all of his business and boxing affairs.
Muhammad was to join the US Army in 1966, when he was drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, however, he refused to serve and was thus taken to court. When his name was called out at court on 28 April 1967, Muhammad refused to step forward and was thus arrested; his boxing license was then suspended, and his title taken from him. He was found guilty on 20 June 1967, but his conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court on 28 June 1971.
He fought Joe Frazier for the World Heavyweight Champion boxing title on 8 March 1971, which marked his first professional defeat. Muhammad then faced Jimmy Ellis on 26 July 1971, winning via TKO in the 12th round; he faced Joe Frazier for the second time on 28 January 1974, winning the fight via unanimous decision. Muhammad became World Heavyweight Champion on 30 October 1974, when he defeated George Foreman.
He continued boxing for the following nine years, with his final match having been against Trevor Berbick on 11 December 1981, which he lost.
He was also an actor, having appeared in the 1962 movie “Requiem for a Heavyweight”, the 1977 biographical sports movie “The Greatest”, which was based on his 1975 autobiography “The Greatest: My Own Story”, and the 1978 historical mini-series “Freedom Road”.
Muhammad passed away on 3 June 2016, at a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona following a septic shock, but also having suffered from Parkinson’s disease in his later years.
