Who is Mark Indelicato?

The comedy-drama series “Ugly Betty” won three Primetime Emmys, among many other nominations and awards, the main characters being played by America Ferrera, Eric Mabius, and Tony Plana. However, one particular character found his way into the hearts of the viewers, that of Justin Suarez, Betty’s nephew, obsessed with fashion.

Early life, family, and education

Mark Indelicato comes from a family of Italian and Puerto Rican descent, and was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, thus he holds American nationality. His parents, Mark Senior and Lynn Indelicato celebrated his birth on 16 July 1994, so he’s aged 28 as of 2022;. Mark is their only child.

Having an interest in acting from an early age, Mark’s parents supported his wish, and by the age of eight, he was already playing in the local theatre. Mark studied acting at The Actors Center in Philadelphia, and he also attended Dupree School of Music in the city.

In 2006, he was cast to play his most significant role to date, as Justin Suarez in “Ugly Betty”, appearing in 85 episodes from 2006 until 2010 – Mark was two times nominated for the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) – Supporting Young Actor in 2008 and ’09, and was also nominated for The American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor – Television Series, Mini-Series, or Television Movie in 2007, and the ALMA Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series in 2009.

Concurrently, Mark was seen as Antonio in the Disney series “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” in 2007.

After the last season of “Ugly Betty”, Mark guest starred in the series “Hot Cleveland” and “Oishi High School Battle” in 2012, and in the same year, he was cast to play Harvey Flynn in the TV movie “Madison High”.

Two years later, Mark made his big-screen debut as Mickey in the mystery thriller “White Bird in a Blizzard”, starring Eva Green, Shailene Woodley, and Christopher Meloni. The series – which had 105 award nominations and won 43, including six Primetime Emmys – follows Deborah Vance, a comedian from Las Vegas, and her new associate Ava, a young comedy writer, on their way to success.

Mark was seen as a contestant in the second season of “RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race” which premiered on 12 August 2022, and was a runner-up alongside a member of ‘Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean and Tatyana Ali, a famous “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actress.
