Early life and education

Karrine was raised in Saint Thomas by her indifferent father and an alcoholic mother; she hasn’t revealed many other details about her parents, as she still respects their privacy. Because Karrine hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most of her fans believe her to be an only child.

Karrine moved with her family to Florida when she was 10 years old, and she’s written about those years in one of her books, revealing that her parents physically and emotionally abused her, and that she was raped when she was 13. She enrolled at a local high school in 1992, but ran away from home two years later, and began working as an exotic dancer, at one point spending a month living in the streets.

The following years saw her live in both New York State and Arizona, until she settled in Los Angeles, California in 1999; it remains unknown whether or not Karrine completed her high school education.
