Elsie Pearl Richter was born on 12 May 2002, in England. She has a younger brother, actor Ezra Richter, born in 2005, who is known for his only role, playing Eddie in the “Doll & Em” television series, which aired from 2013 to 2015. Elsie’s US passport was issued on 27 July 2006, suggesting that she traveled to the country in her early years.

Elsie’s mother is actress and writer Dorothy Perpetua “Dolly” Wells, who was born on 5 December 1971 in London, England, with the last name Galacre after her mother’s first husband, Edward Victor Galacre. Mother’s side of the family
Dolly has five older siblings, so Elsie has two uncles, Thomas Jerome and William, and three aunts, Maria Teresa, Cecily and Alice Amelia. Her mother learned in her late teenage years that her biological father was her mother’s second husband, English satirist, actor and writer John Wells, born on 17 November 1936. Elsie’s maternal grandmother is Teresa Chancellor, who was born on 24 May 1933.

Father, paternal grandparents
Elsie’s father is actor, director and photographer Mischa Richter, born in Windsor, Berkshire, England. He studied art at Middlesex University and The Chelsea College of Art in London but didn’t graduate. Instead, he became a still photographer, and his work was featured in magazines such as The New York Times, Vibe, and Esquire. His photos were also exhibited at various galleries, notably The Exit Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery, both in London. Mischa considered Provincetown, Massachusetts, USA, his hometown, although he initially moved his family to New York State in 2014.
Elsie’s parents married in 2000 when her mother was 28 and her father 30. Dolly announced her separation from Mischa in June 2020.
