Who is Charlie Rowe?
A young and talented actor who rose to prominence after his portrayal of Ray Williams in “Rocketman”, Charlie Rowe was born under the zodiac sign of Taurus on 23 April 1996, in Islington, London, United Kingdom; he holds British nationality, but comes from a family of Greek, Manx (Isle of Man), French, English, Scottish and Czech-Jewish descent. Early life and education
Charlie was raised in Islington by his parents, Sara and Chris Rowe; his mother is a drama teacher, and his father is an actor, known for his roles in various series, including “New Tricks” and “Dangerfield”, among others.
Charlie has a sister but she prefers to keep her life away from the media’s attention thus nothing is known about her.
Charlie attended performing arts courses from an early age, and at the age of eight, he started doing commercials and playing in the West End Theatre, in London. Being raised in a family of artists, it wasn’t surprising that he followed in his father’s steps.
Speaking about his educational background, he attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 2014, Charlie enrolled at the Faculty of Arts, in Haringey, London, where he studied English literature, theatre studies, photography and music, and from which he graduated with a BA degree in 2019.

At the age of ten, Charlie made his acting debut portraying Joe Jefferson in the series “Jackanory”, followed by his role as Young Robin in “Robin Hood” in 2009, before he was cast to play Peter in the TV mini-series “Neverland”, also starring Keira Knightley, Anna Friel and Charlotte Atkinson.
In 2014, Charlie portrayed Leo Roth in the comedy drama “Red Band Society”, which brought him huge popularity among teenage girls, followed by his role as Liam Cole in “Salvation”, also starring Jennifer Finnigan and Santiago Cabera – the series was nominated for Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA Saturn Award Best Science Fiction Television Series, in 2018.

Charlie made his first appearance on the big screen portraying Billy Costa, in the 2007 Oscar-awarded movie “The Golden Compass”, alongside Nicole Kidman, Dakota Blue Richards and Daniel Craig – this adventure family fantasy had 32 award nominations, and won seven, including the Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects in 2008.

Charlie was cast to play The Prince in “The Nutcracker: The Untold Story” in 2010, and three years later, he starred in “Walking with Dinosaurs 3D” alongside Karl Urban and Angourie Rice, waiting for almost a decade to play his most notable role, for now, as Ray Williams, the man who discovered Elton John, in the 2019 biographical music drama “Rocketman”, also starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, and Richard Madden. The movie had 86 award nominations and won 23, including the Oscar for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song), in 2020. Love life and relationships
There have been various rumors both concerning Charlie’s love life and his sexual orientation, however, he hasn’t spoken about any relationships.
Rumors saying that he’s gay, which started after his name was seen on mancrushes.com, and both men and women commented on how hot he is, however, an army of his fans, called Rowebots, discovered that he’s in a relationship with his long-term girlfriend, Julia Storm, about whom only a little information is known. It seems that she’s also from London, and that they attended the same university, according to photos and posts on her Facebook account; according to sources, the two were seen together at the launch party held at London.

In November 2021, Charlie shared with his Instagram followers (who number nearly 100,000), a post saying: ‘I got diagnosed with epilepsy relatively recently, in my early twenties. It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me, I suddenly didn’t know myself, I presumed my career would be in the gutter, and that I’d lose a social life.’
People wanted to know the reason for his absence, for the pause in his acting career, and it seems that his illness was one reason. Although he’s scared, he is trying to understand his condition, and is happy that he could continue working.
