Who is Sunny Mabrey?

American actress, screenwriter, producer and former model Sunny Mabrey, was born in Gadsden, Alabama USA, on 28 November 1975, making her zodiac sign Sagittarius. She’s had roles in over 60 movies and TV series, and is perhaps best known for her playing of Bonnie in the 2020 drama movie “Hillbilly Elegy”, directed by Ron Howard, and which starred Amy Adams, Glenn Close and Gabriel Basso. It follows a Yale student who has to return to his hometown in Ohio because of family issues; the movie won five of its 40 award nominations, including two Oscar nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Glenn Close) and Best Achievement in Make-up and Hairstyling.

Sunny’s still today highly active in the film industry, and is currently shooting for the upcoming movies “A Unicorn for Christmas”, “The Stenographer” and “Haint Blue”.

Education and early life

Sunny and her sister were raised in Gadsden by their father Larry Mabrey and mother Estra Reynolds; not a lot about Larry and Estra is known, because Sunny respects their privacy, but it’s believed that Estra was a real estate agent, and Larry an attorney.

Sunny studied at Southside High School, and was mostly interested in dancing and playing instruments during her four years there; she was a majorette, and played the clarinet in the Panther Band.

She matriculated in 1994 and in the same year became a fashion model, but still chose to continue her education, enrolling at Gadsden State Community College. She eventually switched to the University of Mobile, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre in 1998.

Sunny’s debut TV series role was her playing of Inga in the 1998 episode “Gale Gets a Life” of the comedy “Late Line”, and the year 2002 saw her play Allison in the episode “Provider” of the action fantasy drama “Angel”.

Sunny had no major TV series roles in the 2000s, but still appeared in an episode or two of a couple of critically acclaimed series, such as the romantic comedy drama “Windfall”, the mystery crime drama “Without a Trace”, and the crime comedy drama “Monk”.

Sunny could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the mystery crime drama “In Plain Sight”, the crime drama “The Closer”, and the action crime drama “Vegas”. In 2013, she was cast to play Lisa Munsey in the crime drama “The Client List”, created by Jordan Budde and Suzanne Martin, and which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Loretta Devine and Colin Egglesfield. She exchanged vows with American actor Ethan Philan Randall on 17 July 2005, in a large but private ceremony attended by over 300 people; Ethan’s appeared in more than 100 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still best known for his playing of Bobby Ray in the 2002 romantic comedy movie “Sweet Home Alabama”.

Sunny and Ethan were robbed at gunpoint in November 2006.

They divorced on 25 July 2012, but began dating again in the following year, and Sunny and Ethan remarried in June 2015, without explanation

They are today splitting their time between Los Angeles, California and Atlanta, Georgia where they’ve bought homes.
