RealFrog, or RealFrogg, is a 22-year-old American social media personality, cosplay model, and tailor, best known for her TikTok account, @realfrogg, on which she’s accrued over 1.7 million followers.
Early life
RealFrog, whose real name is Nica, was born on 20 May 2001 in the USA. Not much is known about her early life except that she lived with both parents and had a dog named Hersey. RealFrog wants to be addressed as she/her or they/them. Her artistic name is likely inspired by Keroppi, a male frog character in the “Hello Kitty” media franchise. RealFrog has several figurines and plush toys of Keroppi around the house, and has used his likeness for custom icons and emojis online.
Career
RealFrog started her career in mid-2019 by posting lip-synching and cosplay content to her TikTok account. She attracted attention by creating her cosplay costumes and being open about how often they turn out differently than expected, or didn’t last as long. She also revealed that her sewing machine broke occasionally, and that she frequently had to improvise if a deadline for a cosplay expo approached or something wasn’t to her liking.
However, RealFrog deleted all her content at some point, and returned to TikTok on 20 July 2022 with a cosplay of the character named Hatsune Miku. She then uploaded images and videos of her cosplays inspired by anime series such as “Demon Slayer,” “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” “Love Live! School Idol Project,” and anime movies such as “Love Live! Sunshine!!.” RealFrog has collaborated with fellow cosplayers Pocketwaifu, SwitchPee, Nekoromancy, and Daniel “Bestfriend_Dan” Beher.
RealFrog began posting on her Instagram, realfrogg, at an unknown date before she came back in July 2022. She’s posted vlogs from her expo attendances to her YouTube channel, @realfrogg, since mid-2018, which suggests that she was active on Instagram before TikTok because her content was similar. Following her return, RealFrog uploaded photos from the Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California, US. She then showed her followers what she wore at the Crunchyroll Expo, ANIME Impulse, and Anime Boston conventions before 2022 ended.

RealFrog’s renown led the organizers of Katsucon 2023 to invite her to host a hololive event in person in February 2023. RealFrog diversified her content in 2023 by creating cosplays of virtual YouTubers, i.e. voice actors who control their computer-generated characters using video rendering software and motion-tracking hardware. Some YouTubers she depicted include Gavis Bettel, Watson Amelia, and Ceres Fauna.
RealFrog made about a dozen cosplays in 2023, although not all were created from scratch. Notable costumes include her portrayal of anime series characters Super Sonico from “SoniAni: Super Sonico The Animation,” 2B from “Nier: Automata” and Freyja Wion from “Macross.” She also revealed that she lived with roommates in 2023, presumably in Los Angeles, dispelling an outdated report that she still lives with her parents. RealFrog plans to attend the ANIME Impulse convention in Los Angeles in 2024.
Dating
RealFrog hasn’t dated anyone publicly. However, she uploaded a comedy TikTok video on 26 January 2023, and incorporated the song snippet “Use this sound if your lesbian” by kai. That might have been a joke on her part, or the creator changed the song’s title after it became popular.

RealFrog has green eyes and light brown hair, which she’s dyed silver, pink, and orange. She’s 5ft 9ins (1.75m) tall and weighs about 148lbs (67kgs). RealFrog has two lower lip piercings and at least two tattoos: a two-dimensional band-aid on her biceps and Boo from the “Super Mario Bros” franchise on her right ankle.
