She is an actress with over 50 acting credits to her name, however, the aforementioned is her most notable television role. Movie lovers know her for starring in the 1992 science-fiction action “Universal Soldier”, as TV journalist Veronica Roberts, who helped Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a soldier killed in Vietnam who is brought back to life and became a super-human warrior.

Early life and education

Her birth name is Allene Damian Walker, and she was born on 25 August 1961, in Tullahoma, Tennessee USA, but was raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, by her father James Joseph Walker was a physicist and worked there at the Los Alamos Laboratory, and mother, Louhannah who was an attorney.

As a teenager, Ally dreamed of becoming a scientist, and so upon matriculating from high school in 1979, she enrolled at the University of California, Santa Cruz, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry in 1982. One semester, she studied abroad at Richmond College of Arts, in London, England, and there she realized that she is into performing. She played in the theatre, but still didn’t think about pursuing an acting career.

Following her graduation, she worked as a researcher, while preparing for medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles. However, her life changed one day while she was sitting in a Los Angeles restaurant and a television producer approached her asking if she would like to come to an audition.

Ally made her acting debut as Andrea Bedford in the series “Santa Barbara”, a romantic drama that followed the story of the Capwells, their rivals the Lockridges, two humble families whose lives and fates were intertwined with two of the richest families in Santa Barbara. The series aired from 1984 until 1993, and Ally was seen in 94 episodes during 1988.

During 1989 and 1990, Ally had a recurring role as Officer Jessica Haley in the series “True Blue”, and followed with several guest roles before in 1993 she was cast to play Gwen Cross in “Moon Over Miami”, opposite Billy Campbell.

Her next television role came in 1996, when Ally was seen starring as Doctor Samantha ‘Sam’ Waters in 64 episodes of the series “Profiler” (1996-1999), also starring Julian McMahon and A Martinez. This mystery crime drama followed the story of Detective Sam Waters, in the Violent Crime Team investigating crimes and chasing an elusive man, known as Jack, who has been stalking Sam for years.

In the early 2000s, Ally was seen guest starring in “Sleeper Cell” (2005) and “ER” (2006) before her recurring role as Katie in “Tell Me You Love Me” in 2007.

From 2008 until 2010, Ally portrayed Agent June Stahl in “Sons of Anarchy”, starring Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Mark Boone Junior. This thriller crime-drama followed the story about a biker who struggles with being involved in an outlaw club, and being a father.
