Who is Ali Wentworth?
American actress, comedienne and author Alexandra ‘Ali’ Wentworth was born in Washington, D. C. USA, on 12 January 1965, so Capricorn’s her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in 30 movies and TV series, and is probably still known best for playing Diane in the 2009 romantic comedy movie “It’s Complicated”, which Nancy Meyers wrote and directed, and which starred Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and Meryl Streep. It follows a former husband and wife who’ve hooked up during their son’s college graduation; the movie won eight of its 24 award nominations.

Education and early life
Ali and her three siblings were raised in Washington, D. C. by their father Eric Wentworth who wrote for “The Washington Post”, and their mother Mabel ‘Muffie’ Wentworth Brandon Cabot who was a White House social secretary from 1981 through 1983; Ali’s stepfather Henry Brandon was a British journalist who worked for “The Sunday Times of London”.
Ali became interested in acting while attending Dana Hall School for Girls, and her parents both supported her dream of becoming a famous actress. She matriculated in 1983 and then enrolled at Bard College, eventually transferring to New York University from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1988.
She worked a couple of jobs to financially support herself prior to launching her acting career in 1992.
Roles in TV series
Ali’s debut TV series role was playing various characters in 57 episodes (1992-1994) of the hit musical comedy “In Living Color”, which Keeney Ivory Wayans created as well as starred in, alongside Kelly Coffield Park and Jim Carrey. Following the lives of members of an African-American family, the series aired from 1990 through 1994, and won eight of its 29 award nominations.
The remainder of the ‘90s saw Ali appear in nine episodes of the 1994 sports comedy “Hardball”, the 1995 episode “The Soup Nazi” of the comedy “Seinfeld”, and the 1997 episode “The Love Bug” of the adventure comedy “The Wonderful World of Disney”.
From 2007 through 2009, she starred as Dr. Elizabeth Goode in the comedy “Head Case”, created by Robert Bauer, and which also starred Steve Landesberg and Michelle Arthur; the series follows the life of American therapist Dr Elizabeth Goode. Ali’s debut film role was playing Bobbi Fallon in the evergreen 1996 romantic comedy movie “Jerry Maguire”, which Cameron Crowe wrote and directed, and which starred Renee Zellweger, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Tom Cruise. It follows the life of a sports agent who’s just experienced a ‘moral epiphany’ – the movie won 27 of its 68 award nominations, including an Oscar win for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Cuba Gooding Jr).
Some of Ali’s following roles were in the 1996 comedy “Big Packages”, the 1997 romantic comedy “Trial and Error” and another 1997 romantic comedy “The Real Blonde”.
The year 1999 saw her portray Anne in the critically acclaimed comedy “Office Space”, which Mike Judge wrote and directed, and which starred David Herman, Jennifer Aniston and Ron Livingston. It follows three office workers who’ve teamed up against their boss, and the film won one of its three award nominations.

George is today working for ABC News as their chief anchor and correspondent.
Ali gave birth to their first daughter Elliott Anastasia Stephanopoulos on 9 September 2002, and their second daughter Harper Andrea Stephanopoulos followed on 2 June 2005.
She hasn’t spoken about other men whom she’s been with, Ali’s married to George Robert Stephanopoulos as of February 2023, and they have two daughters together.
