Who is Lil Tay?
Canadian-American rapper of Asian descent Claire Eileen Qi Hope – aka Lil Tay – was born in Atlanta, Georgia USA, on 29 July 2009, so Leo’s her zodiac sign. She’s probably known best for her self-titled YouTube channel which she launched on 24 January 2015, and which is today subscribed to by more than 220,000 people. Lil Tay’s uploaded only two videos onto the channel, and together these have been watched more than four million times.
Education and early life
Lil Tay was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, alongside her brother Jason Tian, by their father Christopher Hope and mother Angela Tian; her parents divorced when she was still a toddler, and her father went on to marry Richanee Alcover, aka Hanee Hope. Lil has a half-brother Brox Hope from her father’s second marriage.
There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding Lil Tay and her father, as she’s claimed that both he and his second wife are physically and mentally abusive; she’s shown a bruise which she claims to have been caused by her father’s beating, while she also claims that he and his wife are forcing her to watch horror movies, and occasionally lock her in a dark wardrobe. Lil Tay’s launched her GoFundMe campaign in which she’s asking her fans to donate her money, claiming that all of the money which she’s earned has been taken by her father and his wife, and which they’re spending on lavish holidays.
It’s widely believed that Lil Tay’s dropped out of elementary school, wanting to pursue music, but this hasn’t been confirmed; she should be enrolling at a local high school in September 2023.

Lil Tay’s YouTube channel used to number many of her music videos, however, these have all been removed for unknown reasons, but can still be found uploaded onto other people’s channels. Lil Tay hasn’t spoken about having a boyfriend, and most of her fans believe that she’s too young to be dating, however, several people have claimed to have recently seen Lil Tay spending time with a boyfriend in public, and that the boy’s about the same age as her; no evidence has been provided to support these claims, nor has Lil Tay addressed this.
She’s believed to not be so social, and a girl who claims to have attended the same elementary school with Lil has claimed that she rather looks down on her peers; this is also unconfirmed.
