Scar has over 1.5 million YouTube subscribers and also close to 300,000 Twitch followers. His most-viewed video on YouTube is his “Day In The Life of GoodTimes With Scar – A Disabled Twitch Streamer And YouTube” – he posted the video in March 2018 and it has totaled over three million views. He is popular for his landscape building and works hard to make many artistic and large builds such as his Pirate Island and the giant tree that was being rained upon – he created these during Season Six. All his avid fans know about his favourite “Howling” song by Lupus Nocte.
Scar uploaded his first video on Hermitcraft’s season 4 server on 25 February 2016, entitled “Minecraft 1.9: Getting My Survival Tent House Started – Hermitcraft Season 4 -Ep 1.” He created close to 86 videos on this server before he proceeded to the fifth season. His second season of Hermitcraft saw him building his Starter Base – naming it ‘hobbit hole’ – before he created Hermit City, Lore, and ConVex.
Scar subsequently became a wizard in the seventh season, as a result of his Infinity Portal, which he had built during the previous season. He created a Starter Base, a large snail named Larry, and shared it with other hermits including his friends Grian and MumboJumbo. He then created the Main Base (Scarx) before teaming up with Grian for Head Games.

At the age of 18, Scar was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease, which weakened his muscles and forced him to quit swimming, since he had to be put in a wheelchair. The ailment also weakened his diaphragm, making it very hard for him to breathe, and he now has to use external oxygen to survive. On top of this, he has to use a feeding tube to eat, and is required to go to the hospital on a regular basis.
Scar’s family is very supportive of him, as he revealed during an interview. Despite being sick, the Twitch streamer attends major events and parties; for instance, he was once accompanied by his brother to Minecon. He also revealed that he attended 2018’s Minefire event held in California.
Ryan also suffers from dyslexia, a learning disorder which makes the patient experience difficulty in reading. His condition often leads to funny and humorous mishaps whenever he is using the Hermitcraft server.
