Education and early life

Bizzy was only four years old when he and his two sisters were kidnapped by their mother’s boyfriend in 1980; the man convinced the children that their mother and grandmother had died, and that he would be taking care of them. They spent over two years with the man, during which he sexually assaulted and tortured Bizzy, and it was only in the first half of 1983 that Bizzy and his sisters’ babysitter learned that the children had been reported missing, and thus called the police.

Bizzy and his older sister began living together in Cleveland, Ohio when Bizzy was 13, and it was around this time that he was introduced to American rappers Flesh-n-Bone, Wish Bone and Layzie Bone. He was 16 when he became a founding member of the rap group B. O. N. E. Enterpri$e, Bizzy matriculated from high school in 1995 and then continued pursuing rap music, rather than a college degree.

Enterpri$e, and it was in November of the same year that American rapper Eazy-E heard about them and chose to help them, convincing the boys to change the name of their group to Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and to sign with Ruthless Records.

The boys’ extended play (EP) “Creepin on ah Come Up” came out in June 1994, and reached #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #12 on Billboard Top 200 Albums; the EP’s singles “Foe tha Love of $” and “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” both became quite popular, with the latter peaking at #20 on Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on Hot Rap Tracks.
