Who is Eboni Nichols?
American dancer, choreographer and actress Eboni Nichols was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 12 May 1978, making Taurus her zodiac sign. She’s worked as a choreographer on over 40 movies and TV series, but is perhaps still known best for working on the hit 2006 musical movie “Dreamgirls”, which Bill Condon directed, and which starred Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx and Beyonce. It follows three women as they’re trying to succeed as soul singers in the ‘60s, and the movie won 69 of its 162 award nominations, including two Oscar wins for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Jennifer Hudson).
Eboni’s also known for being the girlfriend of famous American actress and rapper Queen Latifah.
Education and early life
Eboni was raised in Los Angeles by her parents, about whom not a lot is known as they prefer to maintain their privacy; it’s believed that Eboni’s mother was a dance instructor, and her father a high school teacher. Because Eboni hasn’t spoken about having siblings, she’s believed to be an only child.
She was still attending a local elementary school when she became interested in dancing, and began taking dance lessons. Eboni then studied at Hamilton High School, and appeared in several school plays during her four years there, and was also a member of its cheerleading team.
Upon matriculating in 1996, Eboni enrolled at Chapman University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000.
Movie work
Eboni’s debut as a choreographer was on the 2003 romantic musical “Honey”, while she then worked on the 2006 sports comedy “Blades of Glory”, the 2010 music video “Cody Simpson Feat. Flo Rida: iYiYi”, and the 2011 comedy “Jack and Jill”.
In 2016, she worked on the comedy “Office Christmas Party”, directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, and which starred Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn and T. J. Miller. It follows a branch manager who’s throwing a Christmas party to attract a big client, but the party eventually gets out of control; the film won one of its two award nominations.
The following year saw Eboni work on the adventure comedy “Girls Trip”, directed by Malcolm D. Lee, and which starred Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith. It tells the story of four friends as they’re attending the Essence Festival in New Orleans, and the movie won 13 of its 59 award nominations. Then in 2017 Eboni worked on family comedy “XQ Super School Live” and the critically acclaimed action adventure comedy “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”, followed by the 2018 comedy “Night School”.
In 2020, she worked on the romantic musical “The High Note”, directed by Nisha Ganatra, and which starred Dakota Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Kelvin Harrison Jr. It follows the lives of a superstar and her personal assistant, and the movie won one of its nine award nominations.

In 2007, Eboni worked on an episode of the news talk-show “Today”, and the year 2009 saw her work on the first episode of the comedy “Dogg After Dark”.
Also in 2009, Eboni was a choreographer for an episode of one of the longest running soap operas in the US history “The Bold and the Beautiful”; it’s been airing since 1987, today numbering over 9,000 episodes, and the series has won 132 of its 576 award nominations.
In 2014, Eboni worked on an episode of the competition show “Dancing with the Stars”, and then on an episode of the musical game-show “American Idol”, and the comedy “Better Things”.
From 2014 through 2019, she was involved in 100 episodes of the popular comedy “Jane the Virgin”, which Jennie Snyder Urman created, and which starred Yael Grobglas, Andrea Navedo and Gina Rodriguez. It follows a devout Catholic girl who’s just learned that she’s pregnant, and the series won 23 of its 99 award nominations.

Eboni’s appeared in only five movies, and no TV series. She made her acting debut in the critically acclaimed 2000 fantasy comedy “Bedazzled”, directed by Harold Ramis, and which starred Brendan Fraser, Elizabeth Hurley and France O’Connor. It follows hopeless romantic Elliot Richards who’s been granted seven wishes by the Devil, but has to give up his soul for them; the film won one of its four award nominations.
Eboni played Dancer in the hit 2006 crime action adventure “Miami Vice”, written and directed by Michael Mann, and which starred Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx and Gong Li; it follows the personal and professional lives of detectives Tubbs and Crockett, and the film won one of its 10 award nominations.

Eboni and Queen Latifah have been in a relationship since 2013, and have son Rebel together; the details concerning Rebel’s birth haven’t been disclosed, but most of the two women’s fans believe that he’s adopted.
Queen Latifah’s been keeping the details of her sexuality away from the media’s attention since the launch of her career, and even though there were always rumors circulating the internet, claiming that she was lesbian, she never addressed these. It was only at the BET Awards 2021, after having won the Lifetime Achievement Award that she spoke about Eboni and Rebel for the first time, thus confirming the rumors about her sexual orientation.
Eboni’s yet to speak of other women whom she’s perhaps dated, she’s in a long-term relationship with Queen Latifah as of March 2023, and they have a son.

Eboni’s physically highly active, as she still practices dancing on a daily basis, while she also occasionally does yoga, and following a strict diet – most of her fans believe that she’s vegan.
