Who is Naomi Nelson?

Naomi Nelson was born on 20 August 1980, in Tennessee, USA – she’s of mixed Asian and Caucasian ethnicity, and holds American nationality. She’s a director, producer and screenwriter, also known for being the wife of the comedian, actor and stunt performer, Johnny Knoxville.

Early life, family and education

Naomi was born to an Asian-American father, and a Caucasian mother – her father is a medical doctor, while her mother worked as a high school math teacher. She hasn’t spoken about having any siblings, thus it’s believed that she’s an only child.

Naomi has been fascinated by the art of filmmaking since her teenage years, and it was her dream to have a career in the film industry. She matriculated from a local high school in 1998, and then moved to Santa Barbara to study film at the University of California, from which she graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Naomi made her directorial debut in 2009, when she co-directed the animated documentary “Reel Grrls Productions”, along with Payton Curtis and Carmen Karnes. In the following year, she wrote, directed and edited a short documentary which explored the history of women getting voting rights in Washington State, entitled “Fifth Star”.

Since then, Naomi hasn’t been credited on any other projects, and it appears that she’s chosen to focus on her role as a mother instead.

He’s an actor, stunt performer, comedian and a director, probably known best for being the co-creator and one of the main stars of the infamous MTV reality stunt show “Jackass”.

Johnny grew up in Knoxville alongside his two younger sisters. He matriculated from a local high school 1989, and then moved to California to pursue acting opportunities. After a few years of appearing in commercials and making minor film and TV appearances, he began to pitch his own ideas to TV networks in hopes of creating a new and unique TV show. One of the ideas he had was to test self-defense equipment on himself, which captured the interest of the creative team of the skateboarding magazine “Big Brother”, who included some of his stunts in their videos.

In 2000, another skateboarding stunt crew, CKY, gained a cult following and attracted the attention of one of the “Big Brother” executives, Jeff Tremaine, who suggested that Johnny and the CKY crew should join forces to create a stunt and prank TV show.

The demo footage of the show was sent to various networks, and the popular comedy sketch series “Saturday Night Live” offered the crew a recurring segment on their show. However, they weren’t satisfied with the idea, as they wanted to have full creative control of the project, so they later signed a deal with MTV.

Soon thereafter, they were joined by Steve-O, Ehren McGhehey and Preston Lacy, forming the final “Jackass” cast. The show premiered on 1 October 2000 on MTV, and quickly captured a wide audience. Through the show’s run, Johnny was perceived as a de facto leader of the crew, and he was responsible for a lot of ideas featured on the show.

In 2001, he announced that “Jackass” would be ending after its third season, revealing that he was unhappy with the amount of censorship inflicted by MTV, while also claiming that he and the rest of the crew were underpaid for their work. Despite its relatively short run, “Jackass” has become a cult classic, spawning six spin-off movies, several TV specials, a video game, and two dedicated documentaries.

Johnny has also appeared in numerous movies and TV series aside from “Jackass”, starting with “Men in Black II” (2002), in which he played a two-headed alien.
