Ian Stuart Bohen was born on 24 September 1976, in Carmel, California, USA. He’s an American actor, perhaps known best for playing Ryan in the popular neo-Western TV series “Yellowstone”. Ian made his breakthrough as a child actor in the early 1990s, and has since built a successful acting career, having appeared in more than 50 movies and TV shows.

Early Life and education

Ian grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and attended Carlmont High School in Belmont. He showed an early interest in acting, and began taking classes when he was only six years old. He landed his first acting role at the age of 10 in a production of “Oliver Twist”.

Ian continued to appear in local theater productions throughout his teenage years, and in 1993 at the age of 16 made his film debut in the short drama movie “Delivering”, directed by Todd Field.

Acting career

In the following years, Ian appeared in several popular TV series, including “Walker, Texas Ranger”, “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman”, and “Boy Meets World”. His big break came in 1997, when he landed the role of Young Hercules in the TV series, “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”. Parallel to his work on “Teen Wolf”, Ian also appeared in other TV shows, most notably “Breakout Kings”, “Major Crimes”, and “Chicago P. D.”. He also has several film roles during this time – in 2012, he appeared in Christopher Nolan’s superhero action drama “The Dark Knight Rises”, in which he played a supporting role of a cop working with Officer Gordon.

In 2017, Ian starred alongside Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen in the award-winning mystery crime drama “Wind River”, centered on a veteran hunter who helps an FBI agent investigating a murder.

One of the biggest TV series roles for Ian was in “Yellowstone”, which has been airing on Paramount Network since 2018. The show was created by Taylor Sheridan, who is known for his work on films like “Sicario” and “Hell or High Water”, and stars Kevin Costner as John Dutton, the patriarch of the Dutton family, who own and operate one of the largest cattle ranches in the United States. In the series, Ian played the role of Ryan, one of the workers at the Dutton Ranch. “Yellowstone” has both been a critical and commercial success, with a dedicated fan base and strong ratings. Aside from his acting work, Ian has written and directed two short movies, “Morning Love” in 2011, and “The Tow” in 2016.
