During her childhood years, Rae’s family moved to North Carolina where she attended East Carolina University. Upon finishing high school, she began with modeling, working mainly as a fitness model. Not long after, she joined the Lingerie Football League, playing in the position of cornerback for the Chicago Bliss from 2008 to 2011. During her final year, she played in the LFL All Star Game in Canada.
Later that year, taking a career turn, Rae signed a contract with WWE, joining their Florida Championship Wrestling division, and soon after, she began appearing on FCW TV, both as a wrestler and manager. After serving as the program’s ring announcer for a few months in 2012, Rae was appointed the FCW General Manager, soon making her in-ring debut at an FCW live event in which she was defeated by Sofia Cortez. Upon FCW’s dissolution later that year, Rae became a ring announcer for NXT, a division of WWE, turning into an in-ring competitor the following year by attacking Paige. A few months later, the two finally confronted and Rae lost the match. She went on to compete in the NXT Women’s Championship tournament, eventually losing to Emma. After being defeated by Paige again, she teamed up with Sasha Banks to run the NXT Divas division, under the name of the BFFs: Beautiful Fierce Females, and the two went on to defeat Paige and Emma shortly after. After their disbandment, Rae defeated Bayley, and thus earned a NXT Women’s Championship match against Charlotte Flair, but failed to take the title. Nevertheless, her popularity rapidly grew, with her net worth becoming bigger and bigger.
In 2013 Rae entered WWE’s main roster in an episode of Raw, as Fandango’s dance partner and valet. She captured her first singles match victory on the main roster by defeating Kaitlyn on “Superstars”, and then participated in WrestleMania XXX in the 14-Diva “Vickie Guerrero Invitational match” for the Divas Championship. After Fandago ended his association with Rae, choosing Layla as his new dance partner, the two girls to start a feud, leading to a match which Rae lost. In the rematch, Rae and Layla teamed up and attacked Fandago, after which they lost against Paige and AJ Lee on “Smackdown”. Soon after, she was drafted to the Raw brand in the 2016 WWE draft, but a knee injury has prevented her from appearing on television since the draft.
Aside from wrestling, Rae has been involved in the film and television industry. In 2014 she joined the cast of the reality television series “Total Divas”, portraying the lives of female WWE Superstars. The following year she starred as Dawes in the action film “The Marine 4: Moving Target”; both the show and the film reinforced her popularity and significantly improved her net worth.
